The Kazan Educational Center of Advanced Medical Technologies (Center VMT)
The nonprofit partnership “Educational Center of Advanced Medical Technologies” (Center VMT) is a unique example of a state-private partnership in the field of vocational training for public health services. The project was started in September, 2007 at the initiative of Minzdravsotsrazvitija, of the Russian Federation with support of the government of the Tatarstan Republic and Johnson & Johnson as part of the national project “Health.”
Educational Center VMT is one of the most technically equipped educational institutions in Russia. One of the center’s key innovations is the computer training simulator, which completely recreates an operation in real time. Developing practical skills on such simulators allows doctors to reduce considerably the number of fatal errors and surgical interventions.
