Within Avon’s social campaign “Say No to Domestic Violence” the press-conference devoted to launch of the first Russian free helpline for women, who suffered from domestic violence.
Participants at the event included representatives from the UN, the Russian Ministries for Public Health and Social Development, and Internal Affairs, as well as from ANNA the National Anti-Violence Center, AVON, and Tasha Strogaya, the ambassador of Avon’s social campaign “Say No to Domestic Violence”.
During the press-conference the participants discussed the situation in Russia. According to researches, Russian woman has two and a half times more chances to be killed with her partner than American woman and five times more chances to be killed than European woman.
The purpose of helpline is to give a support to woman, to help her to look into problem and to find a good solution. After telephoned 8 800 7000 600 you wil get the qualified psychological aid and legel consultation.
