As part of its educational program, held from February to March of 2011, AKOS launched a series of lectures for third and fourth year students. At the conclusion of the program, third year student Anastasiya Molchanova was announced as winner of the best essay contest for her work titled “The Future of the PR Market and My Place in It.” The best students who attended the AKOS educational program will have the opportunity to work as trainees in PR agencies that are members of the association.
Elena Fadeeva, chairwoman of AKOS, General Director of Fleishman-Hillard Vanguard said: “We are glad to share our expertise and best practices with the future generation of PR specialists, and we are thankful to the Heads of the Public Relations program at Lomonosov MSU for this opportunity. Participants of the program noted the high level of students’ qualifications and their genuine interest in the profession. The Association provides students with the opportunity to gain experience in leading communication agencies and is going to continue the program next year.”
Anna Anatol’evna Kostikova, c.p.s., assistant professor, and scientific adviser of the Public Relations educational program at Lomonosov MSU said: “Our collaboration with AKOS has started new long-term partner relations with potential employers and experts. For students in the Public Relations educational program, AKOS’ lectures aren’t only an opportunity to obtain actual knowledge about the condition of the PR market and to get acquainted with highly-professional analyses of certain cases, but also to have face-to-face communication with their future employers. Thanks to our partnership with agencies of the Association, 60% of this year’s graduates received high-profiled internships.”
Alexander Bruk, chairman of the Board of Directors of 3,14R Communication Agency and the initiator of the program said: “We hope that this course is the first step toward future educational programs hosted by the AKOC. Together with Lomonosov MSU, we can prepare good specialists for this branch of work, the lack of whom is a big issue today. This is an important issue for the PR community as a whole. If, in the PR specialists community, professionals replace dilettantes, then the demand for services and the job prestige will increase.”
