Andrea Jung, chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Avon, together with Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Avon. Moscow became the 9th stop in the ‘Avon Believe World Tour’, which covers 16 cities and includes London, Istanbul, New York, Chicago, Mexico, Warsaw, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Manila, Shanghai, New Delhi and Johannesburg.
More than 3000 of the best Avon representatives joined in the celebration in Moscow to demonstrate the company’s efforts to help women.
At the event Andrea Jung and Reese Witherspoon joined up with the Russian ambassadors of Avon’s social program “Say No to Domestic Violence”, Valeria, the famous singer and Tasha Strogaya, designer and presenter. Together they announced a $60,000 grant for the Centre of Prevention of Violence, ‘Anna’, that develops programs for women who have suffered from domestic violence. This grant is part of a $2,000,000 investment from the Avon Global Believe Fund, which was created to fight domestic violence in all 16 countries covered by the Believe tour. Besides this, the mission of this global initiative is to attract attention to the plight of women and children who have suffered from abuse within their own families.

Charity Walks under the auspices of the charitable “Avon Breast Cancer Crusade” program have been taking place in 50 countries for more than 10 years. This grand initiative has helped to raise more than $122 million to help fight breast cancer.
The Avon Charitable Walk first took place in Russia in 2007 and over the years the walks have raised 20 million rubles. In 2010, the “Avon Breast Cancer Crusade” Charity Walk received an Award for Excellence in the category “Charitable event of the year”.
