Fleishman-Hillard Vanguard has organized and provided PR support for a cooperation agreement signing ceremony between EF English First, the city administration of Sochi and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Tatarstan Republic. It took place at EF English First’s new central office in Moscow.
The following people took part in the solemn ceremony: Irina Romanets, Assistant Head of Administration in Sochi, Albert Gil’mutdinov, Minister of Education and Science for the Tatarstan Republic, Kristof Vilfert, President of EF Corporate Language Learning Solutions (Language solutions for business EF) and Edward Baldakov, Managing director of EF Corporate Language Learning Solutions.
EF English First, the world leader in the language education sphere, is, since April 2011, the official foreign language trainer of the XXII Olympic winter games and XI Paralympic winter games for Sochi 2014.
As preparation for the 2014 Games, the administration of Sochi signed a contract with EF English First to provide a linguistic program which will allow the city’s residents to increase their knowledge of English and prepare to meet the guests of the Olympic Games. The program offers every Sochi inhabitant one month’s test access to EF’s online school Englishtown and unprecedented benefits for companies working in the city’s hospitality industry.
Since October, 2011 an educational program has also been taking place in the Tatarstan Republic. The program includes more than 3000 present and future teachers of English language, Ministry and Department Heads of the Tatarstan Republic, students, schoolchildren and volunteers.
EF English First has also opened a new central office in Moscow. A formal opening ceremony was attended by Pavel Kolobkov, the Deputy Minister of sports, tourism and youth policy for the Russian Federation as well as Thomas Bertelman, the Swedish ambassador to the Russian Federation, among others. After the opening ceremony had finished a press conference was held where Edward Baldakov, Managing director of EF Corporate Language Learning Solutions, gave details about EF English First’s large-scale projects in the Russian regions aimed at increasing the residents’ level of English.
